SCC Robocalls??? Really?

I just read the Iowa Republican's coverage of the 3rfd District Convention. Craig wrote that all the delegates received robocalls on Friday supporting the three incumbent SCC members, Gopal Krishna, Wes Enos and Eldon Pals. Krishna and Pals won re-election and Pals did not.

If I run again for SCC in 2012, perhaps I will buy TV time ;-)

Don McDowell tweeted on Friday about receiving two robocalls related to the SCC elections in the 5th district:

"Just received ODD robo call bashing on Martin Cannon for #iagop5 SCC. Claims he is DSM powerbroker. Not sure who paid for it. ODD"

"2nd robo in 5mins. Same voice. Supporting slate of Shaw, Williams and Moran for #iagop5 SCC. Interesting."

On the eve of the Convention I received a robocall from some unknown entity urging me to vote for Krishna, Pals, and Enos. One the reasons the unnamed voice said to do this was that now was not a time for a change in leadership, that we did not have time for on the job training.

Whose machine and whose phone line was used to make the calls?

Have we gotten to the point where its necessary to require spending disclosures and "Paid for by" messages on advertising for a VOLUNTEER position?

David, quite honestly, why did you run again? Did you feel like you were entitled to this position back because Christian Fong's campaign failed?

Why should anyone in this district have any faith that you will serve out the full 2 year term?

Mike, I was dissapointed that David resigned but I admired why he did it. Most of us knew Fong didnt have a snowball's chance, but Chung is a loyal friend to him and knew that his role as a SCC would conflict with his passion for supporting him. Note: SCC members should remain neutral in all primaries. Chung IMHO showed honor in resigning, but that campaign ended. Its a new term and I supported his re-election for the simple fact that he is the most honorable representative this district has had in recent memory on the SCC. Clearly the delegates agreed as he was elected on the first ballot when it took 7 more ballots to decide on the other two.

Yoda supports chung because he nominated his xxx times looser wife. Chung resigned for personal gain. That means he cares less for the delegates who elected him. Those delegates, like Yoda and Bill are dumb enough to elect him again.
