On Message!

A shout out to Republicans in Congress, the Iowa Legislature and our new leadership at RPI. You guys have all been on the same page and on message. Of course I might ask where some of you were last year for the original bailout or SILO or when we had the majority — but I digress...

The immediate, loud and unified opposition to Chet's scheme to take out a payday loan for the lottery is a great example. The strong unified reaction to the budget with its so-called across the board cuts is another.

On the national level, I appreciate Senator Grassley and Reps. Lathan and King standing form against the pork bill bailout.

This is the time to stand firmly on Republican principles. Keep up the good work!

David, what do you know about Scheffler and Krishna trying to hold a secret meeting to fill the chair that Sporer is vacating?

I heard they sent out notice on Tuesday morning to hold a meeting to select nominees for an election in February. Any truth to that?

Will those guys ever learn?

Sporer? Ted did not run for re-election to the SCC. There is no seat to fill. When Steve was elected National Committeeman, Wes Enos was elected to fill his seat by the District Executive Committee.

Can't we get over this Steve Scheffler and Gopal Krishna Derangement Syndrome? Lets look at the positive every house GOP member voted against this new attempt for more socialism. I can see some real positive signs coming from our party again.

Michael Ryan
Pocahontas County Chairman

I just wanted to chime in here before the conspiracy theories start getting crazy. Ted is leaving us as Polk County Chairman in February and there are several people who have taken an active interest in the job. However, I doubt anyone is being pushed. I’ve personally talked to a few of them and I think all of them understand what a difficult job it will be. Being Polk County Chair isn’t about holding a title, it is almost a full time job, but it has no salary. It almost needs a staff to keep the ship afloat, but it dosent have the money for that. Its thankless and its very difficult because very few people can bridge the gap between the various factions.

Wes,

Thanks for the clarification. I did not know that Ted was not running again for Polk County chair.
